Speaker: Robert Harvey BA ARPS EFIAP

Britains best landscapes and how to photograph them.
We welcome Robert to TPG. He will talk about landscape photography being the
result of planning and whether it is down to luck. Robert will explain how
photographic vision can be realised by innovative composition and effective use of
colour, light and weather. He will also look at developing a personal style and how his experience as a scientist influences his photography.

Workshop 1

Our first Workshop of the year will be led by Martin Barber, John Gamblin and Nick
Mortimer. Following on from Robert’s talk we’ll explore the module in greater depth.
Members will be invited to participate about aspects of the talk, what ideas it has
stimulated, any experiences they already have in this area, and how the ideas can be
built upon. Please bring along any supporting images you would like to talk about.

Ben is an extraordinary, young photographer, self-taught with an obvious talent for photography.  He has an amazing connection to the natural world around him and takes inspirational photographs.  He also runs a website selling his images.

That's interesting, tell us more

Karen Morgan is our compere for the evening and will be chatting to members about “What’s your bag?” In the allocated 10 minute slots, members will be asked about ‘Their World’ - and we will be introduced to their photographic journey, their favourite location, a piece of kit they would never leave behind, or a technique they’d recommend - whatever it is that makes them get their camera out of the bag and take the lens cap off. Workshop 2

Following on from Simon’s talk last week, David Daggar will discuss his personal relationship to light in his own outdoor photography. He will also show images from the ‘great and the good’. of the Royal Photographic Society. Tony is a fine art photographer with work in the

BluTac and Christmas Pizza evening

A fun evening with a Pizza, a quiz and even an award, albeit of little value.
Please bring your own tipple and an A4 printed image of anything which hasn’t been
seen at TPG in the past. Everyone will have the opportunity to choose their favourite
image with a prize awarded for the overall winner.

Speaker - Jane Lazenby on zoom

Jane’s love of art led to a fine art degree and many years as an artist specialising in
portraits human and animal. She found a love for teaching and supporting others and
qualified to teach in Further and Higher Education. Throughout this time her love of
photography grew, and alongside that, her creative soul grabbed Photoshop and ran!
We look forward to welcoming Jane back to TPG.

Speaker: Andrew McCarthy FRPS: The Art of Insect Photography

Andrew is a photographer, ecologist and conservationist who has been lucky enough
to have worked professionally with wildlife for over 30 years. His philosophy is not just
to take great images for their own sake, but to use his work to highlight the beauty
and complexity of the natural world through talks and publications, and to raise
awareness of the fragility of our environment in a period of unprecedented change.
